Invest in Chesterfield Campaign
Chesterfield is undergoing a renaissance with over £2 billion of regeneration planned over the next 10 years.
The Invest in Chesterfield Campaign supports the delivery of the Chesterfield Local Plan Core Strategy, Town Centre Masterplan, and the Chesterfield Growth Strategy.
Destination Chesterfield and Chesterfield Borough Council’s Economic Development Team have worked in partnership since October 2010 to attract new investment; support existing businesses to grow; raise awareness of opportunities in the town; create a consistent brand identity and build strong working relationships with, D2N2LEP, Derbyshire Economic Partnership, Derbyshire County Council, Marketing Derby Ltd, Sheffield City Region LEP, and UKTI.
Activity includes place marketing of Chesterfield to raise awareness and change perceptions of the town and focus activity in the key target investment sectors.
As well as external promotion there will be the delivery of key account management of indigenous businesses and supporting them to grow and the encouragement of start-up businesses to locate in one of the town’s innovation, incubation centres, or flexible working spaces.
There will be further work with the region’s property sector and intermediaries to develop their role to bring forward development, supporting growth, and attracting new investment to Chesterfield.
The partnership will continue to provide an enquiry service for incoming investment and property enquiries from UKTI, Sheffield City Region LEP, D2N2 LEP, local and national agents, and end-users. Whilst we identify key target sectors within this plan the team will adapt to market conditions to attract investment and create jobs within the borough of Chesterfield.
Destination Chesterfield’s role is to attract leads whilst Chesterfield Borough Council takes these enquiries through to investment.
The team will continue to collaborate with local, regional, and national partners. It will continue to maximise profile for Chesterfield and ensure that the investment opportunities, benefits and identity of Chesterfield are presented according to the Chesterfield brand story.
