Overall Chesterfield College students achieved a 95.2% pass rate meaning many students left knowing that their plans for university, further studies or work were secure.
Alongside volunteering for a children’s charity and working part-time, Josh Ludlam, age 18 from Bolsover, achieved B grades in English Language and Sociology to add to a Business studies qualification he had already achieved. Josh told us that he has chosen to continue his Business related studies at Chesterfield College’s University Centre so that he can continue to work and volunteer locally.
Mathew Heslop age 20 from Eckington was delighted when he opened his results. His hard work has secured a place at York University to study Biology after achieving 3 distinction* in BTEC Applied Science as well as a C in English Literature and C in Sociology A Levels.
AS level students also collected their results today. Bethany Shouk was delighted with her A & B grades in chemistry, psychology, sociology, biology and general studies. With her sights firmly set on a career in medicine she knows these results are a fantastic first step on her journey.
Gill Parkes, Assistant Principal for classroom based learning at Chesterfield College, said:-
“Congratulations to everyone receiving their A level results today. It was wonderful to see so many students get the results they needed to enable them to move on to university, an apprenticeship or other studies. It’s also important to remember whatever the outcome, the journey taken to get to this point is really valuable and there are plenty of options open to get the career you want.”
