Crafty Christmas auction raises money for charity

An online auction of handmade Christmas decorations has raised over £85 for the Chesterfield and North Derbyshire RSPCA. The auction, organised by StraightCurves, ran for three days with the aim of getting the decorations to their new homes before Christmas Day.

Visitors to the Crooked Spire’s Festival of Christmas Trees may have spotted a bright purple tree, adorned with the decorations that were lovingly crafted by StraightCurves customers. People of all ages contributed, with the youngest just 3 years old, and the eldest well into their eighties.

Beautiful felted robins, crocheted snowflakes, decoupage hearts and a very mischievous knitted elf were amongst over 40 contributions, all of which were auctioned off on the StraightCurves Facebook page this week. The items are now making their way to their new homes in time for Christmas, and a total of £87.50 is heading to the RSPCA Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Branch.

StraightCurves would like to thank all of their customers for helping to raise this money, both for creating the items and for bidding on the auction.
