Chatsworth Strikes Gold in National Tourism Awards

Chatsworth has struck gold in the national tourism awards designed to showcase organisations that go the extra mile to provide a high quality day out as the hard-hit sector continues the journey back to recovery.

The Visit England accolades champion the very best of the country’s tourism industry, celebrating quality, innovation and best practice within the visitor attraction sector. The Gold award for Chatsworth was the only one handed out for Derbyshire and the Peak District for 2020-2021, and one of just three in the whole region.

Pamela Pearson, visitor experience team, Chatsworth, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded Gold for 2020-2021. The enormous challenges faced by the tourism industry as a result of the pandemic make this year’s award feel extra special, so we would like to dedicate the award to all our colleagues and volunteers who pulled together in difficult times to welcome our much-appreciated visitors.”

With much of 2020 marred by closures and restrictions, 2021 is coming to a close with a successful Christmas celebrating the 20 year anniversary of the first ever festive season held in the house. Open until 9 January 2022, visitors can enjoy the decorated rooms and illuminations in the garden.

Chatsworth was awarded the Gold award based on the scores they gained in their annual Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme assessment by VisitEngland.

Chatsworth supports the marketing and economic growth of the town through Chesterfield Champions, a network of over 200 organisations across Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.
