Having celebrated its fiftieth year in business in 2019, Industrial Ancillaries is a highly professional, well-resourced strategic supply partner: one of the country’s foremost distributors to the hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation and process industries. An ambitious and innovative second-generation family business with firm roots in Chesterfield, it has over forty employees who are mainly residents of the Borough. Many of Industrial Ancillaries’ customers are local companies and traders: some of whom have been customers right from the start.
In 1969 CEO Ray Harper founded Industrial Ancillaries in (a now-vanished part of) Durrant Road in the shadow of the Crooked Spire. Subsequently based in Hasland, the company moved to Markham Vale Commerce Park, Chesterfield’s 200-acre Enterprise Zone site in 2009. Efficient and cost-effective logistics are essential for a distributor and Markham Vale’s central geographic location and exceptional transport network connections make it one of the UK’s pre-eminent logistics locations.
Decades of industry expertise has allowed Industrial Ancillaries to expand both product and services offerings which now include hose assembly and other workshop services, e-commerce system design consultancy, and conference room hire. 2014 witnessed the launch of the IA Academy: the company’s British Fluid Power Association approved training centre. Two new sales centres have recently been opened in Scotland and Ireland.
Industrial Ancillaries supplies thousands of branded products ex stock by well-known British and international manufacturers. In the field of fluid power solutions and beyond, they have earned industry-wide respect and recognition as a knowledgeable, responsible, and dependable company.
