Markham Vale
Markham Vale is Derbyshire’s flagship regeneration scheme and is a development partnership between HBD and Derbyshire County Council. The former colliery site has been transformed into prime industrial, warehouse and retail space for a range of businesses.
Markham Vale is a 200-acre business park with direct access to the M1 motorway via a dedicated junction, J29a and now has limited space remaining for industrial, warehouse or retail builds.
The development has also brought forward a thriving retail area which includes the likes of McDonalds, Shell, KFC, Marston’s Pubs and Subway, with the latest addition of Chester’s Fish and Chips arriving this year.
Markham Vale also accommodates a flagship Environment Centre (home to a range of firms from the environmental technology related centre) and Waterloo Court.
Additional completed schemes include occupiers such as Great Bear, Protec, Ferdinand Bilstein, Grangers International and Gist.
Peter Storey, Head of Markham Vale at Derbyshire County Council, said: “Markham Vale continues to grow from strength to strength as a prime location for businesses to invest in Derbyshire. We’re proud of our achievements in turning a former coalfield into a thriving business community, bringing hundreds of jobs to the area and boosting the local economy. We’re committed to supporting businesses to invest, thrive and survive at Markham Vale and across the county as one of Chesterfield’s Champions.”
