Chesterfield Waterside
Chesterfield Waterside is a £340 million regeneration scheme which sits adjacent to Chesterfield Town Centre and is recognised as one of the UK’s largest regeneration projects. The scheme is being delivered by local developer, Bolsterstone Group PLC, working in conjunction with Arnold Laver Group and Chesterfield Borough Council. The scheme is separated into six different distinct character areas, which will be developed to provide a sustainable, connected and high quality mixed-use development.
Earlier this year, Avant Homes began construction on the Waterside Quarter residential scheme, a £36 million development which will deliver 174 two, three and four bedroom homes in the bringing forward the first phase of residential accommodation at the development. Construction on the site continues to move forward quickly with strong interest in the completed units.
Elsewhere on the scheme in the ‘Basin Square’ character area, a new office building is currently under construction and represents the first step in delivering the commercial element of the Chesterfield Waterside vision. This office has been forward funded by Chesterfield Borough Council to accommodate large corporate occupier space with some of the space already pre-let to BHP Chartered Accountants. Basin Square is the commercial heart of Chesterfield Waterside and will provide a central hub for all residents, workers and visitors to the scheme. When complete, the first phase of the £75m Basin Square neighbourhood will also see the delivery of 350 Built-to-Rent apartments, a hotel and multi-storey car park, all sited around a high quality public realm area overlooking the newly constructed canal basin.
