Santa visits Chesterfield Market

Snap a selfie with Santa as he takes time out of his busy schedule to visit Chesterfield Market. Catch him walking around the market to meet visitors on various dates throughout December. You can also see him at the annual Chesterfield Lights Switch On and Market.

Santa Special Cruises

Something a little less traditional – the popular trips on the Chesterfield Canal with Santa are back this Christmas. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a family day out and make memories with the littles ones.

All children will receive a gift and adults get a seasonal drink and mince pie or equivalent.

Puffin’ Billy

Join Santa as he trades his sleigh for Puffin’ Billy, Queen’s Park’s very own miniature train. There’s no need to book, just come along to the station at Queen’s Park miniature railway to wait for your departure.

Santa’s Grotto – Vicar Lane Shopping Centre

You’re invited to experience the magic of Christmas with a trip to Vicar Lane’s cosy grotto to meet Santa!

Santa has travelled all the way over from the North Pole to spread festive cheer at Vicar Lane. Every child will be able to meet the big man himself, plus receive a gift and certificate to take home as a momentum of their enchanting experience.

There’s much more fun to be had including Christmas Workshops and a Magical Christmas Trail.

Santa Claus & The Grinch Parade

Wave to Santa as he spreads joy to children of all ages, and keep an eye out for The Grinch’s mischievous antics and hilarious tricks.

Two Parades, Two Routes:

First Parade: The festivities kick off in the Highfield area, starting at Highfield School and concluding at The Highfield Pub.
Second Parade: Take part in the Loundsley Green area, beginning near the Loundsley Green Shops and wrapping up at The Woodside Pub.

Santa at Matlock Farm Park

Share breakfast with Santa and hear all about his reindeer at Matlock Farm Park. Children will receive a bag of magical reindeer food to sprinkle at home on Christmas Eve and a gift especially labelled for your young loved one.

You can also pre-book for the Christmas Grotto. This includes a chance to write a letter to Father Christmas and meet the man himself. For a calmer, more relaxed experience, autism friendly sessions to meet Santa are available.

Meet Father Christmas at Bolsover Castle as he tells festive tales amidst the yuletide decorations. Then, take photographs with the man himself, before every child gets a traditional present to unwrap!

Join Ashgate Hospice for a Magical Christmas and visit Santa’s Grotto.

The enchanting Santa’s Grotto is open from Thursday 12th December to Sunday 15th December, 10am–7pm each day.
