UK Shared Prosperity Fund
The Destination Chesterfield Partnership has received £180,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It follows a successful funding bid by Chesterfield Borough Council, to secure £2.69 million worth of funding for local projects
Destination Chesterfield is part-funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to deliver 2 projects:
Project 1: The Continuation of Destination Chesterfield
The funding supports the continuation of the public-private partnership following the completion of European Funding.
Destination Chesterfield will continue to work with the public and private sectors to promote Chesterfield as a place to invest, work, live, and visit.
This project has received funding of £125,000
Project 2: Chesterfield Inspired Marketing Campaign
This project will develop and deliver a Visitor Economy Marketing Campaign.
The aim is to attract more staying visitors to the town by positioning Chesterfield as a base for the Peak District.
Phase one of the activity will be to commission research to understand Chesterfield’s current position. The perceptions of the place as a visitor destination by users and non-users. And identify key audiences for activity and to test campaign ideas with them.
Phase two will be to design and deliver a marketing campaign to these audiences, which will include clear monitoring mechanisms to test the success of this activity to revise and guide future activity.
This project has received funding of £55,000
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda. It provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
