Staveley Waterside
The Staveley Waterside project will revitalise the Staveley Canal Basin, bringing new office and retail space to the site.
Funding totalling £2.664 million from the Staveley Town Deal will enable Derbyshire County Council to construct a new mixed-use development, as part of the first phase of the project.
Staveley Waterside forms part of the Markham Vale estate off M1 junction 29a.
The 2-storey building will boast a total of 11 new business units, equipped with kitchen and restroom facilities.
Once completed, the building will offer flexible space for new and existing small businesses. Furthermore, the development will generate opportunities for retail and food & beverage outlets.
Staveley Waterside will also bring a new indoor and outdoor dining space to the canal basin, along with an access road, and mooring space.
Additionally, a new 40-metre footpath along Hall Lane will boost infrastructure and accessibility for the development.
The project aims to encourage more visitors to use the canal and will create space for around ten new businesses. It is one of three projects led by Derbyshire County Council.
Enhancing the visitor experience around the canal will make it even more attractive to walkers and cyclists. The regeneration of this area will leave a lasting legacy for future generations and ensure that Staveley is a place where people can start, stay and grow.
