Accepting your place as a finalist

Congratulations! Your business has been selected as a finalist for the Love Chesterfield Awards. Please keep this information confidential until a press release has been released at www.chesterfield.co.uk. We will send everyone an email linking to the press release once live.

To accept your status as a finalist, please read and agree to the terms and conditions below (including those specific to your category) and complete the below form.

Terms & Conditions

To find the winners, we would like to send mystery judges to visit most businesses between Thursday 28th July and Thursday 18th August. Finalists of the Independent and Accessibility Award categories will also be asked to complete an application form.

There is a different judging process for the following categories: Regeneration Award, Entrepreneur of the Year, Accessibility Award, Apprentice of the Year, Food Producer of the Year. For more information, please see the individual terms and conditions for each category below.

There is no fee for entering the Love Chesterfield Awards, although businesses entering a hospitality category will be asked to provide complimentary meals for judges and hair & beauty and leisure businesses will be asked to provide complimentary treatments (more information below).

Winners will be announced at a black-tie awards ceremony at The Winding Wheel Theatre on Wednesday 12th October. If you would like to purchase tickets priced at £69+ VAT, please include this on the form and we will send across an invoice. For more information about the ceremony, please click here.

Our business e- updates will inform you on the latest business news from the town, skills and training opportunities, grants and funding, development sites, business opportunities, the latest networking events across Chesterfield and information on the work of, events delivered by and campaigns delivered of Destination Chesterfield. We usually send these once a week but we may send updates up to twice a week when there is news that is of interest.
Our leisure e-updates will keep you informed on what’s on, places to eat and drink, shopping and things to do in and around Chesterfield as well as some great competitions and offers. We usually send these once a month, but may send additional updates when there is news of up to twice a week.

The applications will be scored after 30th June and finalists will be contacted during July regarding an interview.

Apprentice of the Year

The applications will be scored after 30th June and finalists will be contacted during July should an interview or phone call be required.

Sustainability Award

The applications will be scored after 30th June and finalists will be contacted during July should an interview or phone call be required.

Regeneration Award

Accessibility Award

The applications will be scored after 30th June and finalists will be contacted during July.
Two mystery judges will visit your venue on two separate occasions between Thursday 28th July and Thursday 18th August.
For each judge (total of 4), we would like you to provide a total of 2 complimentary drinks, 2 complimentary main courses and 2 complimentary starters or desserts. Please take a look at the example voucher here for further details.

Restaurant of the Year

Two mystery judges will visit your venue on two separate occasions between Thursday 28th July and Thursday 18th August (evenings only).
For each judge, we would like you to provide a total of 1 complimentary drink, 1 complimentary main course and 1 complimentary starter or dessert. Please take a look at the example voucher here for further details.

Café of the Year

Two mystery judges will visit your venue on two separate occasions between Thursday 28th July and Thursday 18th August.
For each judge, we would like you to provide a total of 1 complimentary drink, 1 complimentary main course and 1 complimentary starter or dessert. Please take a look at the example voucher here for further details.

Pub/Bar of the Year

Two mystery judges will visit your venue on two separate occasions between Thursday 28th July and Thursday 18th August.
For each judge, we would like you to provide a total of 1 complimentary drink, 1 complimentary main course and 1 complimentary starter or dessert. Please take a look at the example voucher here for further details.
Bars that do not have a food offering, are asked to provide each judge with 1 complimentary drink. Please take a look at the example voucher here for further details

Food Producer of the Year (within 10 miles)

A tasting event will take place on 5th July to find the finalists and winner of the category.
Businesses have also been asked to complete an application form.

Best New Hospitality Business

Two mystery judges will visit your venue on two separate occasions between Thursday 28th July and Thursday 18th August.
For each judge, we would like you to provide a total of 1 complimentary drink, 1 complimentary main course and 1 complimentary starter or dessert. Please take a look at the example voucher here for further details.
Takeaway businesses will be asked to provide one complimentary meal and one complimentary drink to each of the two judges. Please take a look at the example voucher here for further details.

Retailer of the Year

Two mystery judges will visit your venue between Thursday 28th July and Thursday 18th August.

Best New High Street Business

Two mystery judges will visit your venue between Thursday 28th July and Thursday 18th August.
Hair and beauty businesses will be asked to provide a complimentary treatment to each of the two judges. Please take a look at the example voucher here for further details.
Leisure businesses will be asked to provide each of the 2 separate judges with an experience at your venue worth up to £50. Judges will be asked to pay for the experience and then at the end of the experience to claim a refund from the business using a voucher supplied by Destination Chesterfield. Independent High Street Business

Two mystery judges will visit your venue between Thursday 28th July and Thursday 18th August.
Hair and beauty businesses will be asked to provide a complimentary treatment to each of the two judges. Please take a look at the example voucher here for further details.
Takeaway businesses will be asked to provide one complimentary meal and one complimentary drink to each of the two judges. Please take a look at the example voucher here for further details.
Leisure businesses will be asked to provide each of the 2 separate judges with an experience at your venue worth up to £50. You must also complete this application form by Friday 8th July 2022. If you accept your status as a finalist, but do not complete the application form, you will still remain a finalist, however your chances of winning will be significantly reduced.
