BSP Consulting is an award-winning Civil and Structural engineering firm offering services throughout the construction sector. Operating across the UK, the company is also skilled in Transportation engineering, along with Geotechnical and Environmental engineering.
Founded in Nottingham in 1999, and with offices now in Leicester and the local Derbyshire area, the company has five directors…each of whom has specialist skills in different fields of engineering. This allows BSP to offer a comprehensive range of services to the construction sector. The company’s philosophy is very much driven by a hands-on approach…with all directors involved in project work.
BSP has recently been part of the team that completed a key public realm project in Chesterfield. The project involved improvement works to the whole length of Elder Way, along with its junctions with Saltergate and Knifesmithgate and is part of the Northern Gateway regeneration scheme.
BSP worked alongside Danaher & Walsh, who was appointed by Chesterfield Borough Council to carry out the public realm and highway works.
BSP’s business development manager Carrie Booth said: “Having attended an event in Chesterfield recently and learnt more about the exciting developments and opportunities in the town, we are delighted to be joining Chesterfield Champions.
“It will give BSP the chance to support development in Chesterfield and the surrounding area and be a part of the town’s future.”
The recent public realm scheme that BSP engineers were involved in included reconstruction of existing footways and paved areas, the introduction of trees, pavement widening, taxi rank improvements, and a range of formal and informal pedestrian crossing improvements. It also featured the de-cluttering of the street scene, new bus shelters and the re-positioning of bus stops on Elder Way, new street furniture, improved design of loading bays, and carriageway resurfacing.
