Fairplay
Fairplay is a local children’s charity supporting children and young people with disabilities and their families across North Derbyshire. It offers support to children aged 0-25 with physical, learning, behavioural and sensory disabilities. Fairplay’s service is tailored to meet the needs of families. Including holiday play schemes, youth clubs, residential breaks, independent living groups and parent support groups.
In conjunction with the Primary Care Trust and a specialist Community Children’s Nurse, Fairplay provides a home-based support service for children with complex healthcare needs that may be life-threatening or life-limiting. Fairplay supports over 400 families across the area.
Fairplay’s services offer families the support that they need and gives them opportunities to take part in positive experiences, which make a real difference in their lives. The services enable parents to have valuable respite from 24-hour care and gives children and young people the opportunity to develop a wide range of life skills.
Fairplay offers services from its purpose-built centre in Chesterfield. It also has outreach venues in North East Derbyshire, Bolsover, High Peak and Derbyshire Dales. The Fairplay Centre in Chesterfield offers unique specialist facilities including a Changing Places Toilet and sensory room. The centre also has excellent rooms for hire for events and conferences.
