Peak Pharmacy
Peak Pharmacy is an independent pharmacy chain operating within the UK. The firm’s pharmacies in Derbyshire, was founded by Peter and Jane Cattee in Chesterfield in 1981 and Peak Pharmacy remains a family-owned entity today. Having grown from one pharmacy in Chesterfield to now owning and managing over 150 pharmacies in the UK, Peak Pharmacy employs over 1600 people.
Most staff who work for Peak Pharmacy in Derbyshire were born in Chesterfield, and now work hard to support the local community.
As well as having a strong retail pharmacy base, from which staff take great pride in offering accurate and prompt prescription dispensing, as well as a wide (and ever growing) range of NHS commissioned services, the business is developing into a patient-orientated service provider.
The team believes their success and growth as a business is down to two things. Primarily the hard work and involvement of all employees, combined with the firm’s family ownership, and the family values which are applied to our business.
Gill Watters, PA to the CEO at Peak Pharmacy believes that as an employer, the firm is a strong role model within the town: “As an employee, I find Peak has strong company values tied to strong family values, with employers who understand the need for work / life balance.”
“Also the firm is a well-known, respected local ‘brand’ with a good reputation in the wider community.”
“As an individual I feel valued and that my opinion matters which is very important. All job roles are crucial to the success of the business and this is noted and regularly passed on to staff through meetings, newsletters and social gatherings. It’s great to feel part of a successful team and this is what makes Peak worthy of being a champion in my opinion.”
Andrea Street, Head of Support Office at Peak Pharmacy describes Chesterfield as a great place to be located for business: “The geographical location of Chesterfield makes it ideal, as it has an excellent road network being close to M1 and having A61 run through the centre. Having a wide range of businesses and facilities means that people visit the town regularly creating more opportunity for customers to use our business.”
