S40 Local
Paul Chapman runs S40 Local, a totally independent A5 community magazine which is hand delivered to 8000 local customers, in Ashgate, Brampton, Brookside, Holymoorside, Somersall and Walton, 10 times a year. With the heart of the area centring on the successful business corridor of Chatsworth Road.
Paul explains “I established S40 Local in April 2009 in response to my needs for a high quality local publication that was cost effective and delivered to every household. I was working as a Painter and Decorator and wanted to advertise my business to the customers on my doorstep. I no longer have time to Paint and Decorate, the publication I set up to meet my advertising needs has proved so successful for so many other businesses and has developed into a valuable and well respected community resource.
“In each edition I include around 40% editorial focusing on local issues that matter to us all, alongside regular slots for a “What’s On” guide, useful local contact numbers, a new business news feature, local classifieds and each months Sudoku.”
S40 Local encourages people to purchase goods and services from the businesses and people round the corner, to help our community, economy and improve our environment by reducing the need to trave and keeping their £ local.
S40 Local focuses on the area of Chesterfield where I live with my family – it really matters to me that the businesses and the community here thrive, we all have a role to play in the success of our areas and that’s what S40 Local is all about – connecting a community.
