Willmott Dixon
Willmott Dixon is a privately-owned construction and interior fit-out company. Sustainability and social value is at the heart of the business; since 1852 they have been passionate about leaving a positive social, environmental and economic legacy.
They have delivered a number of projects in Chesterfield and the surrounding areas, including three extra care facilities on Foolow Avenue, Cressy Road and Market Street. In Derbyshire and surrounding counties, Willmott Dixon has delivered care facilities, higher education buildings, SEND schools, public realm, transport hubs and custody suites.
Willmott Dixon gives back to the communities they work in to deliver upon their 2030 Now or Never strategy, which encompasses a commitment to ‘Building Lives’. Initiatives include giving local apprenticeship students hands-on work experience on their live sites. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the construction company also supported Chesterfield-based care homes by printing and donating 3D-printed face masks to help protect frontline carers in the midst of a PPE shortage.
Although the business is national, they take a local approach to projects in Chesterfield. They work with local companies, with up to 60 per cent of a project’s spend distributed within 35 miles.
Jenna Frudd, new business and relationships manager at Willmott Dixon, said: “I’m really pleased that we’ve joined the Destination Chesterfield champion network.
The region is full of opportunities for growth, and we’re excited to get involved and support members in any way we can with levelling up in a sustainable way.
“Our purpose extends far beyond profit. We support our local communities with access to jobs, training and upskilling and are looking forward to having conversations about how we can help with this in Chesterfield.”
