BHP invests in future talent with 34 new trainees

Chesterfield-based independent accountancy firm BHP has welcomed 34 new trainees.

This latest intake includes 17 graduates, nine non-graduates and eight placement students. All of the trainees will take part in BHP’s successful training programme, which is run across each of BHP’s five offices, and all its service lines. The programme provides an opportunity for those looking to break into the finance industry to gain hands-on experience while studying for their professional qualifications.

For the past five years, the BHP training programme has helped over 200 professionals build thriving careers. This year’s programme included a two-week induction, where the entire cohort came together with past trainees and team members from all five of BHP’s offices to share experiences and learnings.

Acquisition and major rebrand announced by Chesterfield accountancy practice

A Chesterfield accountancy practice has rebranded, following an acquisition by one of the leading professional services firms in the UK.

Smith Craven, which operates on 60 Staff members with offices in Chesterfield, Doncaster, Sheffield, and Worksop is now trading as Xeinadin, as part of the Yorkshire and North East region. BHP announces 79 promotions across its office network

BHP, an accountancy firm based at Chesterfield’s flagship One Waterside Place office development, has announced 79 promotions across its office network in the North Derbyshire and Yorkshire region.

The promotions cover Chesterfield, Sheffield, Leeds, York and Cleckheaton, spaning a range of departments and including recognition across accountancy, management and director positions.

Chesterfield-based finanical advice firm Shorts recently teamed up with MD Law to act as lead advisors and legal representatives on the sale of a nearby ambulance service.

The two companies provided advice to to Alison and Anthony Corbett on the sale of Nottinghamshire based Ambulance Services, B.N.Gibson Limited to Tim and Rebecca Hawley as part of a Management Buy-In (“MBI”) transaction.

Alison and Anthony will remain involved in the business for a period to ensure a smooth and successful transition.

Shorts announces Radius promotions and team expansion

Shorts is pleased to announce the promotion of two key members of its Radius team, which advises on R&D and Patent Box tax reliefs.

Darryl Hoy has been promoted to the position of Technical Director within the Radius team, while Emily Hurdley has been promoted to manager.
