Fusion Utilities to open new 149,000 sq ft facility in Chesterfield

Fusion Utilities is gearing up to unveil its brand new and highly anticipated site in Chesterfield, based at the Horizon 29 site near the M1.

With the final stage of fit-out underway, the countdown has officially begun for the opening of the new fulfilment centre in June 2024.

The new facility will allow the brand to accommodate an extensive range of utilities products so that customers have access to stock when and where they need it.

Situated at junction 29A of the M1, the site’s prime location means it offers excellent accessibility to customers across the country, ensuring Fusion’s commitment to excellence in customer service and operational efficiency well into the future.

The new state-of-the-art facility spans an impressive 149,113 square feet, seamlessly integrating warehouse and office space for optimised efficiency and service quality. Enabling Fusion Utilities to revolutionise operations in the industry whilst ushering in a brand-new era of seamless service and support for its valued customers to ensure their infrastructure projects continue to be a success.

First and second phases of Horizon 29 development now complete

Phase 1A and 1B of industrial and distribution hub, Horizon 29, in Bolsover, North Derbyshire are now finished.

Horizon 29 is a new landmark distribution development located one mile from Junction 29A of the M1, and once fully complete, it will span 1,150,256 sq. ft and have a total of eight warehouses, delivered over three phases by McLaren Construction (Midlands and North).

Phase 1A comprises two single-storey distribution warehouses (units 1 and 2) and sustainable features including solar PVs, air source heat pumps, enhanced cladding, responsibly sourced sustainable materials, LED lighting and electric vehicle charging points. The units have been constructed to a BREEAM Rating of ‘Excellent,’ with an EPC ‘A’ Rating.

Phase 1B, involved the construction of units 4 and 5, alongside all subsequent mechanical and electrical works, office fit-outs and external works to ongoing conference laboratory car parks.

The contractor also delivered earthworks, CMC and VSC piling, concrete foundations, steel framing, lift shaft and stair installations, nets for roofing works and office elevation cladding.

Progress continues at Horizon 29 development in North Derbyshire

A new industrial development near the M1 in North Derbyshire is progressing rapidly, and is expected to total over one million sq.ft of space once complete.

Horizon 29, located in Bolsover is strategically positioned with J29a of the M1 only a mile away, providing excellent access to the UK’s national motorway network. The scheme extends to 53 acres offering a variety of unit sizes, ranging between 73,174 – 249,995 SQ FT across three phases.

Construction is now 80% complete at Horizon 29 for Phase 1A, and 40% complete for Phase 1B. Cladding has completed for Units 1 and 2 and internal works are progressing rapidly. Steelwork is nearing completion for Phase 1B.
