Love Chesterfield Awards

Shortlist revealed for 2021 Love Chesterfield Awards

The very best Chesterfield-based businesses and developments have been revealed by Destination Chesterfield.

35 finalists have been named in the brand-new 2021 Love Chesterfield Awards, which is set to be the first in-person awards ceremony held by the organisation since the pandemic hit in March 2020.

Recognising the heroes of the business community over the last 18 months, Chesterfield’s annual High Street and Food and Drink awards have been combined to create the new awards. The winners of the Love Chesterfield Awards, organised by Destination Chesterfield in association with EntireFM, will be announced at a glittering black-tie awards ceremony at the Winding Wheel Theatre on Wednesday 20 October 2021.

Peter Swallow, Chair of Destination Chesterfield commented: “We are delighted to be hosting our first in-person awards since the pandemic hit and celebrating Chesterfield’s heroic businesses, people and projects in person once more.

Businesses called on to enter new Love Chesterfield Awards 2021

Entrepreneurship, sustainability and community contribution from businesses will be recognised in the brand-new Love Chesterfield Awards 2021.

The introduction of the Sustainability Award is part of the combined efforts across Chesterfield to become carbon neutral. It will reward firms that have implemented positive changes over the past two years, which have resulted in significant benefits for the business.

Recognising the importance of helping start-up businesses in the town, the winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award will also receive a package of practical support. Category sponsor Banner Jones Solicitors’ will provide 10 hours of free mentoring with its commercial and employment law specialists and Destination Chesterfield will fund 12 months of marketing support through its Chesterfield Champions scheme.

It has been, and will continue to be, a joint effort to help the town recover from the pandemic and thrive in a post-lockdown climate. The collaborative approach utilised by many local businesses here in Chesterfield has been a huge part of the inspiration for the awards and we’re urging businesses to tell us their success stories.”

Peter Currey, Managing Director at EntireFM – Complete Facilities Management commented: “The Love Chesterfield Awards are a great opportunity for businesses across a range of different industries to get involved and give recognition to what we have as a town.

“Chesterfield seems to hold its own as a hub for many businesses of all sizes. We have some great names in the retail and hospitality industry in Chesterfield, but it’s great to see other areas being recognised this year including entrepreneurship, which is the driving force behind the growth and sustainability of the business activity we have here.”
